A Ten-Day Countdown, Sourced to One Person
Elon Musk posted on September 2 that 'Grok 4.7 comes out in 10 days,' putting the expected release around September 11-12, 2026. The number attached to the release is striking: xAI's next flagship is reported to carry roughly 2.1 trillion parameters, a roughly 40 percent jump from Grok 4.6's 1.5 trillion[1]. None of it appears anywhere except Musk's own posts - as of the announcement, xAI's official documentation at docs.x.ai still topped out at Grok 4.6, with no Grok 4.7 model ID, pricing, context window, or benchmark card published[1]. Independent trackers have already converted the '10 days' into a specific calendar date, but that conversion still rests on the same single post, not a company confirmation.
